Eco Nigeria is Nigeria’s Green Blog, communicating environmental issues, climate change and sustainable living. This blog promotes a greener lifestyle and advocates for mindful consumption of Earth’s resources.
I started broadcasting as an undergraduate with Orient FM/Imo Broadcasting Corporation Owerri, Imo State. I had my compulsory National Youth Service with Aso Radio Abuja and presently host an environmental and climate change radio show ’’GREEN ANGLE” (Thursday 9am) on same station as well produce and co-host ”Sanitary Inspector” (Saturday 8am), a Pidgin language environmental radio show.
I am a 2010 fellow of the Climate Change Media Partnership CCMP and had the opportunity to cover the COP16 in Cancun, Mexico through the support of the CCMP .
I am also a winner of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC-CDM AFRICAN RADIO CONTEST 2011.
In February 2012, I won the United Nations Young Environmental Journalist Award Africa.
I am passionate about giving voice to the marginalized and promoting sustainable development. My work has been broadcast by national and international media.

Hello Ugochi its nice to be in contact to u i found u while going through Eco Nigeria site and ur writings are just adorable….i m from INDIA and is learning and working on environment issues…well came to know many things about Nigeria and environmental problems there but i think these problems are unanimous and same everywhere here in INDIA i also experience the same …things are moving faster towards crossing thresholds and time is running in parallel and impending disaster if not 2012 that 2020 can be prophesied … well positively will to be in touch ….THNXXX

I hope this really tsakes off and becomes a centre for people to share and promote economically viable green technologies and ideas. It is all too easy for developing nations to say “We cannot afford to be ‘green’”, but often their people can impress the world with creativety and resoucefulness.
Rob, you are right on point. With full citizens, private and public sectors participation Africa can take a lead on sustainable green technologies. I hope this community grows far beyond our continental shores and unite people for a common purpose. Good job Ugochi!
